Food Pantry at MMCC

Growing Peace, in partnership with the UJA Federation of New York and Green Food Solutions, has installed six hydroponics towers at MMCC in the Bronx.

MMCC is a vital community resource that changes the course of lives of Bronx and Manhattan residents to a degree not otherwise possible. Each year, they serve more than 35,000 preschoolers, school-age children, teens, adults, and senior citizens through our support, enrichment, education and recreation programs, expanding their opportunities to live full, productive lives.

The hydroponics towers will yield 30-60 pounds of leafy greens and herbs every month.

Partnering with UJA Federation

Growing Peace is proud to expand its work with the UJA Federation of New York to respond to ongoing challenges and emerging issues. Together, they recently installed a hydroponics garden at the YM&YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood (the Y) and this is the second project in the New York area.

Through additional fundraising efforts, Growing Peace can extend humanitarian efforts to bring hydroponics to schools, more food pantries, and other organizations that help those in need.
